Becoming a social worker was a decision I made over 30 years ago and it is a decision I still hold dear in my heart. I serve with compassion,, commitment, and dignity. Living life's challenges can be quite difficult and overwhelming at times. I like to think the views and experiences I bring to the profession allow people opportunities to identify challenges and hardships they may be experiencing. By working together, one is able to learn and develop skills that will help to alleviate current and past stressors. These learned skills will allow one to function and navigate through life more positively on a daily basis.
I hold two social work degrees, a MSW and BA in Social Work. I complete Comprehensive Clinical Assessments, provide Individual therapy to individuals, serve as a mentor to youth, provide supervision to MSW and BSW students. The main therapeutic modalities I utilize include Client- Centered Social Work, Task- Centered Social Work, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Depending on one's presenting problem or issue usually determines the modality I will choose to use as there are many ,many others. I am a very attentive listener and I value each person's story and personal journey.
